We are so proud of these pumpkins because we grew them ourselves! It has been so educational for the boys to have a garden. To have them plant seeds, water them and watch them grow over the summer and into the fall. We have our very own "Wilson" who gives amazing gardening advice over the fence. He has taught me everything I know about gardening. At first we called it the "Garden of Evil" because tilling the soil and weeding it was quite a chore and was taking more time than we would have liked (and causing some contention) but we really enjoyed literally reaping the fruits of our labors. To my delight I had garden fresh tomatoes, summer squash and zuchinni as well as tomatilla's (which make delicious dressing) all summer long. We also have a huge "Golden Delicious" apple tree. The boys had healthy snacks at their fingertips this fall. I am really beginning to appreciate the 4 seasons here.
